Product review!

Like other busy working moms, I’m always looking for short cuts to meal prep. My family knows I am famous for “recycling” food. One roasted chicken may make 3 meals in my house! I love to cook extra rice, pasta, chili, spaghetti sauce, soup- you name it. So when I discovered Duralex storage containers, I was a happy camper.Manufactured in France, Duralex, like the name implies, is durable. The set comes with 5 pieces (10 if you count the lids) and are made of shock resistant, clear, tempered glass. Both the containers and lids are dishwasher safe. The lids are a beautiful shade of cornflower blue (remember that color from the Crayola 64-pack)? If you grew up in the 70’s, you know what I’m talking about. Each glass container is square shaped with rounded edges and the set itself is stackable. The bowls nest neatly inside each other to save storage space. The smallest bowl is quite frankly, adorable. It holds a half cup of food or liquid. I used it to hold some tapenade dip after a party that I simply could not throw away! The 5 piece set includes a ½ cup, 1 cup, 2 cup, 4 cup and 8 cup bowl- small enough to hold a few cubes of cheese or half a lasagna. The lids seem sturdier than storage containers I have used before where the lids “tear” over time and food leaks. These are great from a food safety standpoint to prevent bacteria from sneaking in.The bowls are microwave safe and freezer safe, which is a huge plus for me. I never advise microwaving anything in plastic as the plastic can be leached into food. I have had my fair share of plastic/frozen containers shatter when I’ve accidentally dropped them on the floor. No one wants plastic chips in their chili! The bowls are perfect for storage, but are pretty enough to use as serving dishes, too. Check them out!
