Break the Crave Cycle

Have you ever said "I can't eat that, I'm on a diet?" If you are trying out the latest in extremely restrictive diets you may be setting yourself up for cravings that can lead to overindulgence. We still don't know what causes cravings. Theories that have been tossed around are that cravings result when your body is lacking certain nutrients (not sure how many nutrients are found in chocolate chip cookies) or that cravings are reinforced by positive memories and emotions related to certain foods. What research has shown is that completely cutting certain foods out of your eating plan can result in food cravings and overeating. Just eat a small portion less often. As long as your eating plan is healthy and you are eating fewer calories you will still lose weight, and you may avoid a lot of guilt!.
