Lisa Cicciarello Andrews, MEd, RD, LD
CEO, Sound Bites Nutrition
My friends affectionately call me “Nutrigirl”. Being Italian, food has always been central in my life. My mom struggled with her weight and my dad dealt with complications of diabetes. I dieted too much as a teenager when I never needed to. I decided a career in nutrition might help me understand the connection between food and health more clearly. I will be the first to admit- I enjoy good food! I am not an extremist. I believe in balance, not restriction. I like chocolate and cheese just like you. I work with adults with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes & prediabetes, cancer prevention & management, gastrointestinal issues, women’s health, cardiovascular health and autoimmune conditions.
My career began in 1990 as a clinical dietitian at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. I became well-versed in illness, but over the years my focus shifted to wellness. I picked up side jobs and gained experience writing, presenting and providing cooking demos through my work at the Nutrition Council of Cincinnati. After receiving my Masters at UC in 1998, I became an adjunct instructor and have taught undergraduate, graduate and nursing students for almost 20 years. I launched Sound Bites Nutrition in 2008 to focus my time on health promotion.
I enjoy teaching individuals and groups, but also love cooking, developing recipes and blogging. I write for Food and Health Communications and enjoy freelance writing. I started a line of food pun products in 2017 that are available in small markets in Cincinnati and online: https://soundbitesnutrition.com/shop-2
I have worked as a Brand Spokesperson and Media Rep. In this role, I combine my health and nutrition knowledge with key product messages to help improve sales and increase product loyalty. I have been on Fox 19 and other networks and am seen as a trusted, knowledgeable health advisor and influencer in Cincinnati. Brands I have worked with include KIND Snacks, Applegate Meats, Litehouse Foods, Libby’s Vegetables, BODYARMOR, Keystone Meats, Mazola
I have been honored to receive a few awards including Ohio Recognized Dietitian of the Year (2017), a People’s Liberty Project grant (2016) and Ohio Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (2002). I am passionate about food insecurity and designed a program called People’s Pantry Cincy. You can read more here: facebook.com/peoplespantrycincy/

Lisa Andrews helped our company administer a “Biggest Loser” weight loss competition. Several employees lost almost 20% of their body weight! She provided healthy recipes, coupons, and met with employees to discuss their individual needs. Lisa’s wealth of nutrition knowledge helped many of our employees change their lifestyle and improve their overall health. We loved working with her and would definitely make use of her expertise in the future!

Lisa Andrews spoke at our manufacturing facility several times as part of our Wellness Program. Lisa was able to present nutrition in an easy to understand manner and gave great tips for easily packing a nutritious lunch and getting through the holidays without going overboard. Our employees greatly enjoyed Lisa’s presentations.

Lisa was wonderful to work with! She was thoughtful in her approach and shared her expertise around nutrition in an accessible and approachable way. She helped us create the curriculum and recipes for a pilot program, Culinary Camp. Her work strengthened the program and inspired kids to learn about cooking and make healthier choices.
– Michelle Stawicki, Design Impact, Social Innovation Specialist
I had Lisa speak to a group of company president’s and she kept it light while giving us great information. With so many strategies out there for diet and nutrition, she was able to make it concise and clear. She was well prepared for all of our Q&A. I recommend Lisa for your group or company.
